Project 2 (Energy Drink) REDO

The original posting for this project was just so I could get something in on time to do my redo, I was sick and got behind on many things during this time that I wouldn't have the chance to redo in other classes or with other projects so I opted to "punt" here is my redone full concept workings.

Project Description: A made up energy drink that will appear in a news paper, illustrate this including text, color, concept, message, product, characters, thematic approaches et.


Sender:  "So-Duh POP!", a gnostalgic throw reference to 50's Pop Art as a quirky/humorous energy drink un natural flavors and absurdity are key with there themes, the layout and type has tremendous various from package to package. Some will look digital, some may be hand done entirely depending upon what the flavor "is saying it wants to be like". 

Message: promote an energy drink that is iconic & references pop art, repetition of message should be important... pop culture (counter, historic, modern) with a pop art / color pallet & subject matter that visual appeals due to its odd juxtapositions, bright colors, strange names etc.


Audience: pop art appreciators, counter culture appreciators  & energy drink users

Purpose Objective:  use bright colors, repetition of icons,  and odd names to  illustrate/advertise promote interest for those who are interested in energy drinks and pop art and have an adventurous pallet for trying weird flavors 

Specs:  full page, 11X17 full color ad for news paper ad (optional now) Include clear call to action.

Thematic Statement:  Bright colors, reference pop art, pop culture, weird flavors, make fun of art and energy drinks and food, and the times in general, posterize images, hand drawn type logo, unique type creation, layout for 1 to 2 possible flavors.

Project Brief: Energy Drink
Sender: Rat Fink + Calvin Juxtaposition= Rat Piss Energy drink
Audience: Nascar folk, young adults/teens as well
Objective: Using iconic images to make a new brand and identity with odd message
use these to be edgy and disturbing with the message.
Message: "drink rat piss and die"


**Need to photograph/doc other sketches/briefs, but I can't locate them or may need to remake them
